the context

San Diego has one of the best running communities in the country — but it's scattered across Instagram accounts, Meetup pages, and word-of-mouth. TASUKI is an attempt to fix that: one place to find every club, event, and race in the city.

the team

TASUKI started as a conversation between two friends — a runner who had just relocated to San Diego and couldn't figure out where everyone was running, and a friend visiting from Philadelphia who kept saying someone should just make a map of it all. That conversation became this. It's a side project, completely free, with no ads.

the name

A tasuki (襷) is a cord used in Japanese running culture to tie back sleeves — and most famously, the sash passed between runners in an ekiden relay. It's a symbol of connection, handoff, and community. That felt right.
